went to break fast with family at geylang on the last day of fasting..
and the first sip of the drink i took was simply heavenly..
lucky we got a seat at that crowdedd place..

so anw, when i heard the most wonderful thing in the world (apart frm ALIFF's singing) *grins*
the takbir..
i felt scared that it actually brought me to tears but i held back coz i didnt wanna
create a scene there..
so drama..

headed to the bazaar to buy accessories for my baju kurung..
buttons..
(coz the PCD has loosen up all my buttons)
hahahs..

one thing i enjoy looking at the bazaar is the curtains..
its soo colourful and nicee..
in fact, my mum bought a set of curtains..

soo happy uhh..
all the nonsense at the bazaar..
really felt the mood and spirit of raya..
cant wait 4 tmr..

Im so proud of myself..

i cleaned the house.. (without a maria)

i swept and mopped the floor..

cleared out my cupboard and arranged my stuff properly..

wiped the tiles, doors and al the dusty areas too..

and you would not believe what I found..

while cleaning out my cupboard..

muahahaha..

i still rmbr eric asking me to steal this..
omgg.. were we tt mean?

i feel bad now..

should i go return it?

naaa.. lols!!

went to meet Jie Ying and Cui Shan on monday..

nicee meet up.. havent seen u guys for quite sometym..

we have yet to go out and play together!!

And thanks for the update session.. =)

i had my supp paper early on tues morning..

it was the exact same paper as the exam i failed!

well i did study so hopefully ill pass it this tym round..

else i might as well eat pork..

went down to TTSH in the evening

Ok, once again i wasnt left in peace..
Someone just purposely had to disturb my sleep..
Grrrrr!

So i went down to www todayy..
ahh, feels simply lyk home to me..
soo many recontruction works,
well, i cant wait to see the end product of it..

Anw, my dear fiona is diagnosed with bronchitis secondary to asthma..
thats so sadd..
but it brings back memories coz the case scenario i did during my attachment was
an old man down with bronchitis and asthma, but he has MRSA.. =(

and just as i thought none of my habibis were there..
i was wrong.. =))
hahahahahahaha...
My M and Spencers was there
and we had a gdd chat..
sorry to those who were not in town but i took the opportunity to havoc!

went to visit Xuan Min at ttsh..
poor thing is warded coz of an unknown cause..
dun play2 uhh, her bed location is special u noee..
lols..

then finally met up with dad
and went to za za bazaar to break fast..
havent been there u noee, so sadd right..

we went to break fast together at Rex.

So i was stuck at home like a prisoner for the past 2 days..
Just like a slave to my own home, cleaning and cleaning.. (without my maria)

Results are bad, really bad.
I was disappointed at first but then again
it was my very first poly exam so i guess I wasnt expecting that.
But im alright now larr, just that ive gotta take the supp paper which is BULL..

Anyway this home prisoner was very religious and went to mosque today just to pray.. =)
and take porridge/bubur/kaanji as well..

Also, i went for swimming after 3/4/5 weeks with ievan
and it was back to the basics for me and him..
just kept training and training but im glad to say
i still havent lost touch, just a lil slack now..

ohh man..
i cant rmbr when was the last tym i slept till 2pm..
but it felt soo darn gddd..
anw, i could have slept longer but suree got ppl just want to busted..

thenn suddenly i so semangat clean my cupboard..
aiyah, kater nak raya..
so while i was cleaning halfway, i thought
"why am i doing this when i can ask my maria to do it for me"
lol.. u noee who you are so plss do ur job next tym..
but im glad i cleaned up my cupboard and what a gd job i did too..

actually i wanted to post up nice2 pictures but Nura hasnt sent me any yet
so ill post them up after she has sent me..

and now im waiting anxiously for my results..
I noe u guys hav gotten ur results but plss dun hao lien..
omggg.. so nervous..
wad if i did badly?

whoa.. finally my 3 weeks of attachment just went by with a blink of an eye..
and i survived through it with flu cough and fever for the past 2 days..
no point in taking Vitamin M coz ill still have to come back on Sat in the same condition..

i must say that the 3 weeks was quite a fruitful experience for me..
In fact those who were attached at AH enjoyed their attachment..

I would just like to share my experience and give some tips to those year 1s who are going for their attachment for the very first tym.. (ps: Nasy and Vanitha)

the first day is orientation so try to get yourself familiarised with the hospital setting and surroundings.. (eg, pantry, linen room, treatment room, sluice room)
and immediately you will get right to work..

taking report is very important coz they will discuss the diagnosis of the patient and what special instructions there are for the patient (eg, special diet, referral to PT, OT, ST, 4 hourly para, I/O chart)
and they will use abbreviations like KIV, CVA, BKA, NBM, DM, UTI, COPD, CCF..
dun be afraid to ask..

and whatever we have learnt is Assistant Nurse (AN) standard so do follow them and they are the ones who will instruct you most of the time..
I am privilleged to get very approachable staff in AH who will assist and constantly help me..
you must take initiative to do your 4/6/8 hourly parameters and record any intake and output of the patient..

yess, the first week i was 'goblok' and so was everyone else so most of the time we would be walking around and not knowing what to do..
the thing is, no one will instruct you what to do..
you have to take your initiative to answer call bell and serve diet to patient, bring urinal, and so on..

during your first week, learn your ward routine well.. so you will know the flow of what happens next
(eg, 0730 - changing of bed linen
0800 - doctor's rounds
0830 - patient breakfast
0900 - bath time
1130 - patient lunch)

you will not get any opportunities to do anything if you keep quiet..
as ive said, take initiative to look at patient's feeding chart..
then tell the AN that you want to do NG feeding for patient at bed ##..
and if you see that the AN is doing changing of diapers, just tell her you want to help..
really, no AN will ever refuse your offer..
if they do, inform your Clinical Instructor (CI)

again, i am quite privelleged as the staff there allowed me to do some stuff which is isnt required at our level.. of course with supervision..
(eg, assisting with patient admission; the nursing assesment, Blood Glucose Monitoring (BGM), conscious level chart (CLC), off plug, which is removal of the needle from the vein for the IV drip, and changing of IV drip)

and do take the opportunity to go around and observe the different and interesting cases there are in the ward..
What i saw so far was, chest tube, bone marrow aspiration, insertion of NG Tube, application of urosheath, insertion of catether, peritoneal dialysis, IMH patients and MRSA patients..

Well, i truly enjoyed my 3 weeks and ill miss some of the patients there who truly make my day, the ANs, SNs and PCAs..

thanks to Kak Rokiah who cooked for me mee goreng the other day..

both the lecturer and our CI was satisfied with our performance..
and plus, i got back a good report.. =)
